The skies are slightly overcast and I feel chilled. My little part of the world feels calm and serene. My open storm door shines a bit of sunlight into the house. The pups are dozing in front of it. A friend said she might drop by, but she did not. I have been watching an Agatha Christie video. I always loved her books. I used to have a friend when I was young who also liked her. We used to read the same book, and at a certain point, we would stop and guess who committed the crime. He always guessed right, and I rarely did. He passed away at a young age. Just now I remembered him from so many years ago.

I shiver slightly. I do not know if it is because I am chilled or because I remembered the ‘who done it’ buddy of my youth. I feel his presence. It is as if he has come and tapped me on the shoulder. ‘Remember how much we enjoyed trying to solve Agatha Christie’s mysteries?’ he seems to say? I shake myself back to the present.

I am truly feeling chilled. I decide to make some split pea soup… Would you happen to care for some? It smells delicious!
